My life feels like a mountain that I keep climbing even when the path gets steep.
My emotions move like a fighter getting back up after getting knocked down.
My journey is as resilient as a weed growing through the cracks of a sidewalk.
During week five of our poetry residency at Legal Prep, we went over similes, comparisons using the word “like” or “as”. “Golden” by Jill Scott was the song we used to identify similes throughout the piece with the hook being, “I’m living my life like it’s golden.”
Check out Jada’s , a senior in Ms. Wysinger’s class, poem and practice using similes!
